A-Energy took part in International Congress on safety and security arrangements at fuel and energy facilities

23 December 2017

The Congress “FEC: priority vector of development – safety” was also attended by governmental officials, representatives of research institutions and non-for-profit security structures, specialists of domestic and international companies, safety systems designers and producers, independent experts.

A-Energy was presented by the Director of Economic Security Department.

In their reports the participants noted that FEC is an area of the highest risks among industrial hazard facilities. However up to now a number of fuel and energy complex facilities have inadequate security and provision with protection equipment. Vulnerability of such facilities as regards to terrorist threat and various technogenic disasters can lead to devastating results. Worn-out state of machinery assets, low personnel competence, climate peaks кand extreme weather, lack of economic interest in development of industrial safety provisions — all these, one would think, local conditions may result in loss of control over the most important complex.

A-Energy Director of Economic Security Department spoke at the workshop «Integrated approach to security enforcement – guarantee of FEC infrastructure facilities security» about the main issues of security enforcement at FEC facilities from the perspective of oil and gas companies and potential ways of solution. He said, that «timely detected security threat including energy security in relation to which preliminary actions are done in good time, is no longer a threat».
